Papalii back as Justice boss
Papalii John Taimalelagi has returned to take over the post he was sacked from after being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Justice.
His appointment was among the three new appointments announced by Cabinet on Wednesday evening.
According to the Cabinet, Papalii John Taimalelagi is the incumbent for the position and he will lead the ministry for the next three years.
Papali’i was sacked by the former administration following an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment during his tenure. He reapplied for his former role when the position was advertised.
There had been rumours that he was returning but it was swept under the carpet. Just this month, former Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi had criticised this appointment when the rumour mills started churning.
The other appointment is Su’a Hellene Wallwork-Lamb as the Attorney General. A position she took up for an interim period for over a year.
The third appointment is the new C.E.O for the Samoa Qualification Authority. He is Tupa’i Peter Peilua.
The information was published on the Government page around 8 pm on Wednesday.
