An unfinished business

Dear Editor,

An unfinished business does not mean there was never any business at all.

We all watched with great pity the new Minister of Agriculture’s efforts on Tuesday night’s TV1Samoa News to downplay the 400 acres of our Government Cattle farm at Togitogiga on lease or sale to American Samoa.

He said no evidence of a reported 400-acre deal between the previous American Samoa Government and the former Samoa Minister of Agriculture is also Chairman of the Faatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi Party.

Of course, the secret deal was stopped when it was investigated by the American Samoa Senate and widely beamed across by the KVZK-TV.

As a Minister in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, whom the rebel Chairman is trying to kick out, put your loyalty where it should be.

This nation has enough problems due to the infighting amongst the FAST Party MPs.

At best remain silent and get busy promoting genuine taro planting for the first harvest and do not repeat the corrupt practices of displaying taros that were attributed to the efforts of the Minister and the village farmers but were later found to have been bought from the market.
