Between the Lines
POLICE HAT
A boy in the blue left his hat at a family’s residence where he made an unannounced call. The family was not home, so the police officer opened the gate to the balcony, sat himself in the chair outside, and when he left, he left a part of his uniform. The family is keeping the hat and also wondering why the police made a call.
CYBERBULLYING
The message on cyberbullying at the Miss Pacific contest did not hit the target. Following the controversial crowning, many took to their favourite social media platform, attacking and bullying the winner.
RAGE
A bus driver was seen hitting a young man after the two got into an accident on Saturday. Just because the driver may have been older does not give anyone the right to lift their hands.
PREVENTION
There will be increased police presence at the bus terminals this week. Once again, action is being taken after the fact. Prevention of school fights through community policing should be a real approach.
BAD FOOD
There needs to be a check on food being sold by barbecue vendors. A family who bought several meals found the lamb had gone off, and the chicken tasted as if it were more than a day old.
WALKING
Holding children’s hands when walking on the road is good; what is not good is adults walking a few metres in front and children running behind. Adult supervision goes out the window unless someone has eyes in the back of their heads.
