CORRUPTION

A video showing how little things, including misuse of time and government resources is corruption is a great production. It could do well if the video is viewed by all civil servants.

INDEPENDENT

Central banks like the Federal Reserve (Fed) or the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) are generally independent in setting monetary policy (interest rates) to manage inflation without direct political interference. While they are established by government legislation and accountable to parliament, they operate independently to prevent political pressure from causing economic instability.

PRESSURE

When appointments are handpicked, and the appointees are paid very well, how does such a department stay clear of pressure when dealing with matters involving those who appointed them?

COINCIDENCE

It must be a day for school fights. While the Savalalo market saw a fight between students of two schools, around the same time, schools in Fiji had a similar situation at a local town bus station as well.

CHANGE

One supermarket is enjoying an increase in business and customer traffic in Vaitele after an unfortunate incident involving its competitor. Even the street vendor children have migrated to the new location.
