Between the Lines

IDs

People have been asked to provide two forms of identification by district council reps to access government’s $150 education assistance. The same people are also accepting expired passports as valid IDs.

CHARGES

FINES

Reports have come of drug suspects paying penalties amounting to $30,000. Village fines are getting heftier and people can still afford that amount.

NOT GUILTY

Some people banished for being drug suspects were cleared of their charges. They are wondering if this removes the banishment and gets them a refund on the village penalty they have paid.

NOSY

A couple are wondering why neighbours have called the police on another neighbouring family after a loud dispute but have failed to prevent thieves from breaking into the same home twice.

WORTHY

Do you know someone with exceptional service and contribution to the development of Samoa? Someone like firefighters, nurses and others who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Make you nominations.
