Between the Lines

FORUM

Next month Samoa is due to host the regional early childhood forum that will see leaders from all over the Pacific come to Apia. Hopefully, the power woes get fixed before that.

VOTES

The government is unlikely to revert the discount on power to domestic customers. It is after all an election year and nothing will be done to jeopardise votes.

FLOOD

Residents of Lalomauga were impacted by the heavy rain as the river burst its bank and flooded homes and farms. Surprisingly, there were no visits by the government teams to offer any help.

ESCAPE

The police have yet to capture the infamous escapee. It has also not been explained how the man managed to escape the prison facility.

SAFETY

The occupational health and safety department of the government needs to be revamped. More and more people are working without proper safety gear and it is being done blatantly.

FITNESS

There is still nothing heard from the boys in blue about their proposed drug tests. The public would also like to see a regular fitness test. Too many are dying young.
