Between the Lines

BUSES

The China-donated buses in Ululoloa have new signages on them. All of them have the name of the hotel close to the wharf. They could be used as the shuttle transport for CHOGM.

PROACTIVE

It might be a good idea to have condom vending machines or distribute the contraceptive during the October meeting. Prevention is always better than cure as some nations have high cases of HIV.

MORE BINS

Litter is still an issue. There is a need for more bins not only along the CHOGM Peninsula but also on the highway along the villages. And where are the litter enforcement officers?

COLOURFUL

A delay in freight for the teams in the local origin series led to quite colourful outfits being worn by teams. The jerseys were matching but the shorts and socks did not.

MEDICINE

It was good for authorities to advise incoming delegates for CHOGM to bring their supply of specialist medication. It is always good to tell people what they might not find here.

AMNESTY

Those with illegal firearms such as automatic assault weapons may not come forward even if no questions will be asked. They do not want the risk of being identified as most are with the ‘ice’ trade.
