A driver was lucky to be alive after he fell asleep at the wheel early Sunday morning. The car crashed on the large concrete boulders near humps. No serious injuries were reported.

MINIMUM WAGE

Some employees are still unaware that the minimum wage has increased and will increase again. The labour ministry needs to do random checks to get the guilty employers.

TRAFFIC ISSUE

The bingo near the highway in Lepea causes major traffic disruptions at night. There are also speeding buses taking groups from villages often running red lights.

DRUG WAR

A village known for involvement in narcotics is putting its foot down. The village elders are now checking every vehicle entering or leaving the village.

DOGS

Tie those dogs. Owners need to fence their compound or tie their dogs. Taking an afternoon walk is equal to risking a limb.

CROSSINGS

Pedestrian crossings are provided almost everywhere along the highway. Many people still choose to cross the road from anywhere.
