Despite the 5 year’s gab, the 2018 Samoa Football Cup competition has been one of the most successful tournaments in the FFS competition calendar. The tournament kicked off last Saturday and concluded this evening with the final round of matches and the prize giving.

FFS President Laupama Solomona spoke on behalf of the Federation to thank the participating teams and everyone who contributed to the tournament.

“The tournament has been a huge success. I want to thank all the management, players, coaches, referees, FFS staff and supporters for making this tournament possible.

Special thanks to our international federation FIFA for accepting our application and lending us the assistances to run this tournament. Also, special thanks to the tournament donor’s Rev Faitoaga Tolua for donation and Vailima Breweries for their generous donation of refreshments for the teams.”

The competition is being supported through the assistance of the FIFA FORWARD project which has allowed the Federation to provide all participating teams (10) with new uniforms, $2,000 each for training costs, organization costs and prize money that will be split between the participating clubs for club development purposes.
