Brothers “Danger Boe” and “SJ Demarco” are in Samoa to give back to the community through their musical talents.

The sons of Church Ministers Reverend Foma’i and Rasela Lafaiali’i will headline the “Milly Rock” concert at X-Club tonight.

Speaking to the Weekend Observer, Danger Boy, whose real name is Fa’aiuaso Lafaiali’i, and SJ Demarco, real name, SJ Lafaiali’i, said they are looking forward to their first performance in Samoa.

The brothers will be joined by a host of other big local names like Mr. Tee, Ben Petana, Avia Brothers, Joanna Failautusi and Faith25.

“The main reason behind this concert is to give back to the community and working to promote Samoa with our music. Every music tells a story and this is ours to tell,” the brothers said.

“It is always great to be back home and its very important for us to be here for our first concert since the establishment of our music. Before we even perform in the countries that we are residing in at the moment, we want to first perform where everything started from.”

Danger Boe resides in Australia while SJ is based in New Zealand. Both were born in Samoa where they say their passion for music started from church with their parents being Methodist church Ministers.

“The fact that we were their children meant we had to set good examples for the people especially the youth of the church.

“It was a must for us to attend all the choir practices and all the items of the Sunday school leaving us no choice. And we cannot complain as this was where our passion about music started from.”

Danger Boe told the Samoa Observer the journey has been challenging.

“There was a lot of doubt when we first started. People telling us that we can never do it. People throwing us a lot of negatives but all those built us and challenged us for the better.

“ Me and uso sat down and I said to him,  “Look this is what we love and we got to keep on doing what we love” and here we are and this will be our first ever concert. It is just a blessing working hand in hand with my brother and I could never ask for anyone like him.

“This is just the start of everything for us. Time doesn’t wait for anybody and while we are still young we got to do it because we won’t be young forever and I know one day we will fade as well because nothing lasts forever so we just go with the time.”

And the future?

“We are hoping to take our music to the world because we Samoans, despite the fact that we are just a small Island but we are destined for greater things and this is why we are doing what we do best.”

The brothers acknowledged the love of their sponsors including X-Club Samoa, Adaway Samoa, Best Value Supermarket Samoa, Taula Beverages Samoa, Tanoa Tusitala Hotel Samoa, TRANSAM, Duty Free Samoa, West style beauty salon, Farmer Joe’s Samoa, S.S.A.B, Apia Samoa and Urban Sounds.
