The problem of child slavery

Dear Editor,

Re: Child slavery slammed Nicely done.

“And yes people are attracted to small children and that is why parents use their children because people tend to feel sorry for the children.”

You got a point there.

“She said when she spoke to some of the street vendors; they told her it was paramount for them to sell all their stuff before going home otherwise their parents would beat them.”

We might want to make sure the kids are telling the truth here, whether it was the parents that said this or the vendors to whom they work for. Or a strategy to obtain the outcome as quoted below.

“At 10.30pm four 12-year-old kids came home trying to sell some kind of chips and they said they can’t go home until they’ve sold these four things,” she said.

“So we bought it for them because I don’t want them to hang out until 10.30 because that’s way too late.”

“But please don’t let the children solve your problems the parents, government, education sector need to fix it.”

Amen to that, beautiful article.

It appears that Tuilaepa wants the parents to have more kids for aids to solve his government problems, parents have more kids as the answer to their struggles. vendors exploited the abuse of kids to avoid having financial troubles.

Slave pay compare to profits.
