Fire breaks out at Tafa’igata Landfill
Members of the public living around the Tafa’igata Landfill have been cautioned about a fire that broke out in the area yesterday afternoon.
A thick billow of smoke was visible at the Landfill as the fire spread through rubbish that is dumped there.
People living nearby told the Samoa Observer that the fire started at around 3pm.
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority was called to the area and were investigating the cause of the fire.
It was neither possible to get a comment from the Police or F.E.S.A. last night.
It is not the first time a fire has occurred at this particular site.
In 2016, a similar incident took place.
