Easter is usually a very busy weekend. There are church, family visitations and other planned activities. Samoa Observer's photojournalist Anetone Sagaga spoke to some members of the public on how they planned to spend their Easter.

Ramona Malesana,48 Toamua

"I'm planning to rest this long weekend, usually this time every year I look forward to taking a break from the work life. I rarely have time around the festive season to spend with my family, so I'm looking forward to just relaxing and having some quality time with loved ones and friends. It's important to rejuvenate the body so we start fresh next week, coming back stronger and more energised."

Moemoe Matautia, 50 Tapatapao

"A family reunion is happening this coming Easter weekend, On Friday we plan to go church first in remembrance of our saviour Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he has made for the whole world. It's a holy weekend so family time and worship mostly for my side with the family."

Ape Kerisimasi, 56 , Lefaga

"It's a holy week and we're looking to attend service and spend quality time at home. I plan to also do some work this week at home. Cleaning, cooking, and just the usual home routines we Samoans are used to. Preparing umu for Sunday to'onai and hoping to make it to church as well to celebrate that Christ has risen again, a tradition for my household every year''

Rosa Avapalu, 58, Tulaele

"Nothing new this Easter, just gonna take the opportunity to rest and get some good sleep. I'm usually always excited around this time of the year because of the long Easter weekend. It's the longest rest most of us get to have from work life and I will enjoy it. So mostly eat, rest and worship."

Puipuiau Ifopo, 34 Tiavea

"This long weekend will mostly be about fasting and worship for me and my family, we are a very strong Christian family and this time of year is all about Jesus Christ. We will go to services on Sunday and tomorrow Good Friday, probably have a fun day for the kids and usual chores."

Ropati Poasa, 26 Vaitele

"This long Easter weekend, I will be working on the farm, making sure my livestock and crops are flourishing since it's been very very hot these days. The usual Samoan chores and cleaning and hopefully get to spend more time with my children at home and my entire family."

Tietie Folasaitu Vaili , 59 , Saoluafata

"I'm looking forward to the end of the week, it's gonna be a nice long break from everyone and I hope it will re-energise everyone. Nothing much has been planned for my Easter long weekend, just rest."

Rosalina Inafo, 45 Saleaumua

"Since graduation has just finished, my family will be celebrating over Easter weekend and giving thanks to God for the sacrifice that has forgiven the whole world. Most likely we will go for a beach day and have a picnic with the family, have a BBQ or an egg hunt. Most importantly home service to acknowledge Jesus Christ."
