Public praise Fuiavaili'ili for courage, sorry for his exit

Caroline Matailiga Tominiko, 49, Falefa
"I believe there is nothing we can do about it, if this is what he wants and what he feels in his own heart is the right to do, then we have to support his decision. If he is resigning then his good work for Samoa will always be remembered. He did a lot for the Ministry of Police; lot of wonderful work for Samoa as well so I wish him the very best for the future."
Trevor Tausisi, 23, Sinamoga
"I think this is the best Police Commissioner we've ever had in Samoa. During the time of his service to this country, I believe he gave everything in order to protect and help Samoa. It’s hard to believe that he has resigned from his position. But let’s hope that the one who will be replacing him will be as good as Fuiavaili’ili Egon Keil is."
Tolol’i Tuiloma, 51, Falealili
"Fuiavaili’ili is a very brave Police Commissioner, he is fearless and courageous for what he did for the Ministry. Without his work, there will be more marijuana and drug dealers in Samoa. His effort and service over the past six years was phenomenal. All the police raids that he led collecting guns, drugs and money was a brave move and it is not easy to chase people down, but he manage to put them to jail. So sad to hear that he has resigned, we will miss his bravery and hope that his replacement will be the same."
Leiataua Vaifale Paulo, 55, Manono
"This is one of Samoa's heroes who led by example at the Ministry of Police. He is a good leader and I appreciate what he did for our country. I want to acknowledge Fuiavaili’ili for all the brave work you did for Samoa, by enforcing the law for the benefit of our people. I pray that God will bless you and your future career. I supported the decision by the Police Commissioner to resign and focus on spending time with his family and other personal pursuits. Family is forever and we should spend more time with them so I support his decision and wish him luck for the future."
Mulipola Apisaloma, 62, Vaitele Uta
"If his contract has ended then I support his decision but if he has resigned but his contract is still current then I don't agree with him leaving. The service of this Police chief for Samoa is brilliant. He is amazing with his work. Work speaks louder than words and I'd say he did his work well and was brave and we all witnessed the benefits for Samoa. He hunts down drug dealers and he has changed Samoa, in terms of how they bring down drug smugglers but in a peaceful way. I wish him all the best as well as his family."
Natty Laulu, 21, Fagalii
"It is shocking news for us to hear that the Police Commissioner has resigned because we need police officers like him who are brave to lead and to protect Samoa from violence. He is a good man, an honest servant who has served Samoa for so long but has sadly resigned while Samoa is in very tough times. His work has resulted in reduced marijuana selling in town as well as supply which affected a lot of young boys. We need another good leader like him."
Mona Mata’afa, 47, Lufilufi
"I believe the Police Commissioner’s decision to resign is fine because he didn’t do anything wrong for Samoa. He served the country with all his strength, he served with honesty and to the best of his ability and didn’t commit a crime. If we think that his decision to leave is based on politics, it is time for us to stop the blame game and at least appreciate what he did for our country. Stop all the accusations, stop judging him but let him do something for his family. Thank you for all your effort and work done for Samoa."
Samal’a Malo, 59, Vavau
"I wish the Police Commissioner had resigned after the political crisis had been resolved because we need his leadership at this time. Since he became Police Commissioner, he always led the team everywhere they went. He was not like the other commissioners, they just gave the orders and sat in front of their computers while the team went out. But as for Fuiavaili’ili he was always out there with the Police to do the job. I will miss this chief and his service and I know the Ministry and the people of Samoa will miss him as well. He is a Hero."
