Party's court appeal surprises, disappoints public

I leave everything up to God. Right now it seems that we aren't able to do anything with regards to the government's decisions. But I do have faith in God, he is the one who can answer all our doubts and with the caretaker Prime Minister appealing again, I really don't know why he would do that? I just don't know at this point, I feel like with whatever happens whether there will be a new Government or not, I think that in God's favor we will prevail.

Maria Tusigaigoa, 22, Faleapuna

Well I think that the appeal shouldn't have happened because people are just saying this and that and the process is still going on when we would think it would finish and end by now. The whole nation is waiting around for the result and what I really believe is that we should put God first and things will work out eventually.

Faamausili Mema, 59, Malie

I would think that when FAST won that maybe HRPP would say, well, let's give them their five years and let it go. But no they appealed again, I would think they would be doing these exchanges, taking turns to change and evolve with time in the Government so we can have a civil election and a quiet election for our people but right now well. I'm praying that with God's love and light he's show some direction to both parties so that our nation can be civil and peaceful again.

Sam Viiga, 43, Malie

The decision has been made by God and that is FAST won, that's it and there should be a change in our Government. Right now the cost of living is so high and there's so many new things brought into our nation and there just isn't any balance. This is God's decision and with respects to that decision, well, our former Prime Minister should kindly step down and respect the outcome. So we can really see if they have anything good to contribute to the Government because right now FAST is making a lot of noise and they are new to us. We are now suffering from HRPP so we need to see if FAST can actually prevail and change Samoa for the better or not. My words to the caretaker Prime Minister, that seat doesn't belong to your family, it belongs to the nation.

Misiotele Asia, 29, Faleula

What I understand is that after the court case the result was clear that FAST took the crown. But right now it's looking like maybe the caretaker Prime Minister is hiding something because he just can't let go, I don't agree with him appealing at all the two decisions of the Supreme Court.

Asiata Fala Faamausili, 28, Vaitele Fou

What I thought was that at the end of Friday FAST had won then on Monday the same thing happened. I think whether the FAST or the HRPP form government then well I will proudly agree and stand behind the decision. Why? Well because we are all Samoa, we make up Samoa. I am very neutral, I will support whoever wins...and right now it's clear that both court cases were won by FAST. I don't know what HRPP is doing, we shall see FAST strengths and abilities if they can make and form Government.
