Voters pick H.R.P.P victory
2016 is a massive year for politics in Samoa. It is when the country will go to the polls on 4 March 2016 for the General Elections. The safe bet is on the ruling Human Rights Protection Party (H.R.P.P) continuing their reign. But the Tautua Samoa Party is mounting a strong challenge and some people believe they have a chance of causing an upset. What do you think? Deidre Fanene asked in today’s Street Talk and this is what people said:
I don’t see the Tautua Party coming anywhere near a victory. For a start, all the candidates are running for the H.R.P.P so how can the Tautua Party win? There can only be one conclusion and that is another H.R.P.P victory because they have done so much for the country. Our country is beautiful and has a lot to offer the tourists because of the H.R.P.P. So they will win again.
The H.R.P.P will win the election again because they have done a lot for the country. We have many impressive looking buildings and we have the basic utilities thanks to the Prime Minister and the H.R.P.P. There might be some people who will not agree with what I’m saying but that’s my opinion and I strongly believe the H.R.P.P will win again.
It’s hard to see the H.R.P.P losing this election. I think the only issue will be the make up of the H.R.P.P and who will get the Ministerial positions. Otherwise I think it’s a done deal that the current government will remain in power.
The H.R.P.P will win again. They have done so much for Samoa. They brought the All Blacks here, the S.I.D.S Conference and also the Commonwealth Youth Games. Samoa is on the map because of the work of the H.R.P.P and I think they will win. It's true that a lot of the projects are funded from overseas but none of that would have been possible if we didn’t have a good government. So the H.R.P.P will definitely return.
