Carol Bilbo, 69, Tafaigata.

"This issue has been going on for a while and I believe that the removal of the 10 per cent quota for women in parliament will put an end to this non-stop nonsense. I am in favor of removing it and whatever the outcome it is what it is because women should get elected on their own merits."

Faaofonuu Faamausili, 62, Tafaigat.

"I'm in support of the 10 per cent female representation in Parliament because they (women) have contributed to the social, economic and political development of our country and there shouldn't be any barriers that limit their potential. Titleholders are overwhelmingly men, even in villages and sub-villages and the list goes on, where fewer women are appreciated so the 10 per cent of women's quota plays a vital role in taking into account women's rights."

Sandra Laufili, 40, Saleimoa.

"In my opinion, women should get their fair share in all aspects of life and their voices and abilities should be seen and heard. If men can do it then so as women, and allowing more women to take part in the parliament is good for our people and a stepping stone for the growth of our country."

Sio Pio, 66, Nuufou.

"I strongly agree with the removal of the women's quota because I know for a fact that there are other better engagements for women than getting into parliament. Women get easily taunted and are more lenient in decision-making which could diminish their importance."

Masina, 40, Matatufu.

"Women should have a voice in the parliament and I stand up for the gender quota given to women because we are all equal. Judging the ability of women to what men can do is such an embarrassment to society".

Asenati Toalua, 55, Nofoalii.

"I believe that there's more wisdom in women that would greatly impact our society, especially the development of our country. If they are given enough chances and value. It will also give a perspective to the younger generation of the importance of women and what they can do."
