"The reason why I need to talk about this is because there's a lot of things and people who complained about the children should prepare food for teachers during exams. Look this is not it, as you all think teachers get money, no that's wrong. What's the important is you let your child go to school? A person who works hard receives blessings from God but what you're thinking of not preparing food for teachers that's not definitely right. Back in the days parents who passed away till our parents, everything is change in your age what's important about your child? That's why your child is very stupid. When a son or a daughter come and tell us the teachers needs to be feed during exams – some parents said what food? No that's not right why should we feed them? But I am totally supporting this we should prepare food for teachers and not complained about it."

Matalena Kamasi, 31, Falealupo

"To me I am supporting what I meant is to think about other families, remembered some families have not enough money for their children, some families they have one child. If they have many children, if each one of them prepared food for teachers, what should they do they don't know what to do. But to me that's the only thing students should pay the teachers by teaching them, but this matter is not happening this year."

Filipo Fiaiai Kapeli, 30, Ti'avea

"In my opinion I've figured out they should not prepare food for teachers, they get paid by the Government because some families are developing their own, they don't have enough money to buy or prepared food the teachers. They try so hard and work hard to find food for the family but if this happens they don't know how to develop their family, but this matter is up to the Government because the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture paid all the teachers in Samoa. Preparing food for teachers should stop, families are not the same, some families are working so hard to find things for the teachers. The teachers don't know anything because of what they asked the students, they know students paid their own PTA but look what they did?"

Paute Sivanila, 43, Fasitoo-Uta

"My thoughts are based on what I saw on the television from the Ministry of Education to not  prepare food for teachers. I am so happy because it will help me out and lighten up my work, but students are still collecting their money but it's hard for me to stop because my children are attending and they had to do their exams. But if they are not going to do what they've been asked, it might be a reason for my children to fail. To me it is very nice that we must follow what the Ministry read it out, they should keep up their rule by not preparing food for the teachers."

Stone Fonoti, 50, Fagalii

"That's the thing for me I follow what the Ministry's policy is and what they voice out to our country. The teachers get paid by the Government, if they get paid why are we preparing food for them. The only thing is to let our children attend school and their work is to teach them. The money that buys food for the teachers is to help the parents buy uniforms for their children, school fees, bus fare, lunch plus everything we need for the family like soap, clothes and pillows. We should follow what the Government says, I believed and I disagree parents should prepare food for teachers during exams. Parents should look after their own children by buying them healthy food but not saving money for teachers as our children need our support.Just think how we should develop our family and for the future of our children. Parents are not sleeping well at night trying to find work for their own good especially their children. Some families are poor because of this, we should all say no to this please."

Kalameli Mansen, 50, Sataoa

"I hear this issue keeps on going on but my children are preparing food for the teachers starting on Monday. I did this because its instructions from teachers because they think I'm a bad mother. But honestly I don't agree with this and I don't support this. The school that my children attend did that which is not helping our families at all as it reduces amount of money our family has for our needs and wants. I'm not sure this is happening in colleges but I hope this is not happening there as well."
