"I'm not sure if we will have any this time round. But if we do have Palolo, it will be in Savai'i. Most of the Palolo seem to appear more in Savai'i this year. But if we do happen to get Palolo, it might not be much, it all depends on the weather. If we do find some that would be great and if we do, that's okay."

Tavita Laufou, 19, Puipaa

"I know that if we beat England this weekend in the Rugby League World Cup, we will have a lot of Palolo when we go out to harvest it. There is so much will be found. I love Palolo and it's easy to fish for it too. When I get some I'll pack it and sell it."

Mu Simiti, 40, Vaiusu

"I believe that it will be a good harvest especially in Savaii, depends on the weather right now and we will all get some Palolo. The price will remain the same and hopefully stay that way, however, if the price of fuel goes up then Palolo will also go up."

Gaeao Topai, 58, Nuusiatia-Safat

"We that are elderly look at the weather. That's how we know if there will be a lot of Palolo and if there will be any. We see a lot of rain and sunshine, that's like the weather is prime for Palolo. I love it and if I get enough I am able to distribute it to my relatives and even sell some in Apia."

Tamara Faasalele, 19, Faleapuna

"Well from the looks of the weather, it's starting to rain now and I'm sure that finding Palolo this year will be very good because of the rain, if anyone finds Palolo please don't make it so expensive."

Jacinta Ah Colt, 45, Fagalii

"If I can recall from the many years before, the first time you harvest Palolo every year it won't be much. However, the second time round the same year will be where you get a lot. I remember how my grandmother used to prepare Palolo, when we received it, she would fry it in butter and it smelled very very nice. There is also the other way of preparing it in the earth oven, but I still think frying it with butter is the best choice".
