Top four teams eye Apia Park title

Four teams have qualified for the Cup semifinal of the last leg of the Vodafone Samoa Sevens Series being played at Apia Park.

They are Taula All-Stars, Tepatasi, Matniuel Laulii Lions and SCB Apia Maroons.

Taula All-Stars went head to head with BBE Vaiala, and won, 26-19. 

 Taula All Stars won by a penalty try awarded during the extra time period.

In the second quarter-final between Tepatasi and AST SCOPA, the Tepatasi did not want to return home without reaching the semi-finals and so they put on a great game and won, 22 – 5.


Matniuel Laulii Lions are climbing their way up again to the final, and after winning against Isuzu Aana Chiefs, 22-5, they are now one step closer to their goal.

The last quarter-final between Ott Constructor Tama Uli and SCB Apia Maroons, was won by Apia Maroons, 14-12.

Apia Maroons scored a last minute try to break the hearts of Tama Uli supporters.

Hundreds of fans are gathering at the Apia Park Stadium to support their teams.


Taula All-Stars will face Tepatasi in the first Cup semi-finals while Matniuel Laulii Lions will see SCB Apia Maroons.


If Taula All Stars win today, they will be declared the undisputed champions of the Series.ies.
