Samoa takes part in PacAus Netball series

Netball Samoa confirmed their participation in the Pacific Australia Netball series in Brisbane Australia next month marking head coach, Natalie Mathews' first appearance as the Tifa Moana coach. 

Mathews is looking forward to the challenge ahead.

"As we look ahead to the future of netball in Samoa, this marks a crucial first step for our team. Adopting a professional approach to our training, nutrition, and overall well-being will be essential in unlocking the full potential of our athletes, both now and in the years ahead," she said.

"It's time to rebuild, and our goal is to reach the final of the PacAus netball series - and we have the team to make it happen."

A statement released by Netball Samoa states that this is an opportunity for athletes to compete at the highest level and showcase their skills on an international stage. 

"The team comprised of talented athletes from Samoa, New Zealand, and Australia, will arrive in Brisbane on 13 February and head straight into a three-day intensive training camp, ensuring they are well-equipped for the series ahead," said Mathews. 

"The series offers our athletes an opportunity to gain exposure to international standards of play, develop their individual and collective skills, enhancing the global standard of netball."

Their participation shows their dedication to fostering talent, providing international exposure for our athletes, and growing the sport within Samoa. 

"Netball Samoa is confident that our athletes and management will represent Samoa with pride, showcasing not only their exceptional skills but also the strength and spirit of the Pacific region. We wish Team Samoa all the best."

The traveling squad are Auteletoa Tanimo, Eseta Autagavaia, Gardenia Asiata, Jess Lagaaia, Kara Adrole, Kristiana Manu'a, Lata Holi, Melissa Oloamanu, Naomi Fuafiva Solomona, Renee Savaiinaea, Rianah Childs, Sayonara Alaalatoa, Soli Ropati, and Tiana Placid.
