Bad weather strands travellers
Travellers between Samoa and American Samoa have found themselves stranded as Samoa Airways cancelled their flights on Friday due to the bad weather conditions and to ensure the safety of their customers.
"Please be advised that all scheduled flights today are now cancelled due to inclement weather conditions affecting both Samoa. We will provide a rescheduled flight date once confirmed. Thank you for your patience and we apologise for the inconvenience caused to your travel plans."
The ferry services to Pago Pago have also been cancelled due to the rough seas.

On Friday there were only two trips to Savaii from Upolu. The first one was at 6 am and the last trip was at 8 am.
According to a passenger on the 8 am ferry, the passage was rough.
"The sea was rough. The waves were huge and it was like the ship was battling the sea. Everyone was scared, some of them were even praying," said Samoa Observer photojournalist Junior S Ami.
The Samoa Shipping Corporation is yet to announce the resumption of ferry services.
Meanwhile, a family opted to take charter a small boat to Upolu because there were no ferry services to catch their flight back to New Zealand. They left Friday morning and were reported to have arrived safely.
