Leulumoega-Fou College goes to Wallis tourney
Leulumoega-Fou College will represent Samoa at an U17-rugby tournament in Wallis and Futuna this month. The school had their farewell on Friday morning before the team departed later in the day.
The Education Director for the Congregational Christian Church Samoa (C.C.C.S), Rosita Esera gave words of encouragements to the team as well as the coaches as they sent them off.
"All glory goes back to our Heavenly Father for such an opportunity to select our College to represent Samoa in the rugby tournament at Wallis and Futuna," she said.
"Tonight you will all depart Samoa, our prayers are with you all that you may arrive at your destination safe and sound. When you go out there remember your parents, your school, and friends will be supporting you from afar.
"Some students may not be doing well in our four fields - Science, Commerce, Arts, and TVET. Go with God."
Ms Esera reminded the team of their behaviour, attitude and most of all their respect towards the other teams and athletes.
"Portraying great sportsmanship is what you should take from here to there. We teach you about manners, so behave accordingly to what we've been teaching you. I applaud you all for your talents in rugby. Congratulations to you all. It is not important whether you win or not but the attitude that you show there is very important."
"All the best Papu and your assitant, as well as the boys. Do not play with an attitude, but be humble. Win or lose you will always feel great if you are humble.
"So humble yourselves and play your heart out as you are representing our beautiful Samoa on an international tournament. We will be cheering for you all."
