Manu Samoa team named for Japan clash
The Manu Samoa have named five debutants in their team to face Japan on Saturday 22 July at the Sapporo Dome.
Christian Leali’ifano starts at flyhalf for his first ever appearance in Manu Samoa colours along with number eight So’otaka Fa’aso’o.
Auckland Blues hooker Charlie Faumuina, Moana Pasifika Rookie of the Year Miracle, Fai’ilagi, and United States based Martini Talapusi are set to make their debut from the bench.
Prop Paul Alo-Emile has been named to lead the run on team on Saturday.
The last time the two teams met was in the Rugby World Cup in 2019 where Japan won 38-19.
The match kicks off 6.50pm Samoa time on Saturday.
