The 2022 Miss Samoa Pageant contestants were all welcomed at Vodafone Samoa headquarters on Monday at Maluafou and did a tour of the premises as well as met with workers.

The eight contestants were all wearing Vodafone T-shirts and were accompanied by their chaperones to the telecommunication company’s business premises, where they were given a tour by employees.

The last room of the tour was the conference room where the contestants each introduced themselves to the Vodafone crew.

The host of the day then got the contestants to participate in a quiz to test their knowledge on some of the services that Vodafone Samoa offers to customers in the country.

The brief introduction and the quiz were concluded with a Samoan siva performance by the reigning Miss Samoa, Fonoifafo McFarland-Seumanu who was supported by the contestants.

Faumuina Ivan Afamasaga, Vodafone Samoa Marketing and Brand Manager, told Samoa Observer that the partnership between their company and Manaia Events Inc. goes way back even before Vodafone Blue Sky.

"The partnership between Vodafone Samoa and Manaia Events Inc is not new,” Faumuina said.

“We have been working together for a while now to promote the Miss Samoa pageant.”

The commitment of Vodafone Samoa to the pageant and the contestants was also highlighted.

"It is Vodafone's commitment to the community. We sponsor other community events and this is one of them," he said. "We hope to see that Miss Samoa also goes to international stages.

Manaia Events Inc. Chairperson, Leiataualesa Jerry Brunt, told the Samoa Observer that the partnership with Vodafone Samoa is like a family.

"We have been working together since Manaia Events Inc. was established in 2013," he said.

"Bluesky as that is what its trading name was then, was the first to respond to our request.

"So we have created a very strong relationship through the years as you can see we know each other by our first names, so we are pretty much like a family.”

Leiataualesa also told this newspaper that the Vodafone Miss Samoa contestants are busy with rehearsals and other activities throughout the week.
