The National University of Samoa held their N.U.S. Open Day on Friday with 27 different schools and colleges touring the Campus to learn more about the courses on offer after completing secondary school.

The day's program included cultural performances by that kept the students, teachers and parents entertained with the different N.U.S. faculties taking the lead in some of the traditional dances and songs sung.

International students also flavour to the entertainment, performing cultural dancers from their home countries to the applause of the crowd.

Schools that attended the NUS Open Day were given incentives courtesy of the local mobile phone company Vodafone Samoa with prizes including free credits as well as Samoa Stationery and Books (S.S.A.B.) donated WST$50 gift vouchers.

With the assistance of the National University of Samoa Student Association (N.U.S.S.A.), the university was able to organise tour guides for each NUS school, enabling a trouble-free briefing for students and parents.

The NUSSA is recognised as the only student body in the university and is run by student members and is the official voice of all the students on the campus.

The university's administration, working alongside the N.U.S.S.A. work towards promoting and encouraging unity, equality, diversity, co-operation, tolerance and understanding between all students and staff.

With the help of the association, they've managed to organise the day’s event as each school cheered wildly at the best performances of the day.

The N.U.S. Open Day also strengthened the partnership between the N.U.S.S.A. and the N.U.S. administration, ensuring inclusivity for all campus students when making decisions on student affairs, and overall development throughout the university, while enabling better advocacy for students' rights and for their voices to be heard.
