The Legendary Punialavaa Band did a tour of the Taula factory at Falelauniu on Thursday afternoon and got to see firsthand how the Taula Lager is brewed.

Accompanied on the tour by the Lava Hotel Chairman, Fia'ailetoa Pepe Christian Fruean, the band members were also taken on a tour of the production of the popular Taxi soft drinks, before they were given the opportunity to sample the product.

The band members test tasting of the freshly-made beer was immediately accompanied by a spontaneous Samoan song sung by Nanai Viellani Lale Peteru, on how you are being given the chance now to "enjoy beer on earth before you make it to heaven where it's not allowed!"

The Samoan song by Nanai threw everyone into fits of laughter with the band members throwing in the occasional joke. The tour was a memorable for one of the band's family members, who had her first taste of Taula straight from the tap. The tour concluded with a light lunch provided by the company with the band talking about their tour days.

Nanai expressed the band's appreciation on behalf of his family, saying how grateful they were to be taken on the tour, and thanked Taula who is one of the sponsors of the band's tour in Samoa coinciding with the independence celebrations.

"This is the first time I've ever had fresh beer, ever, and it doesn't get any fresher than that bro," said Nanai.

"My family definitely enjoyed it. They loved it, for those drink. For us who drink, we really love the taste, it's the taste of Samoa, Samoa is the home of Taula and we're proud of the fact that its local. Just like us, Punialavaa."

The Punialavaa band and their family members now live in New Zealand but were born and raised in Samoa.

Nanai expressed his appreciation to everyone who made their tour possible with their performance on Thursday and Saturday and urged the public to watch their performance.

Their performance on Saturday night will also coincide with the unveiling of new songs together with their memorable big hits with Nanai saying it will be a memorable night for everyone watching and listening.

Fia'ailetoa said Samoa now is abuzz with activity and is an exciting time for everyone, while also provides the opportunity for everyone to reflect on Samoa's 60th Independence anniversary and the sacrifices that the country's forefathers made.

"Also a time for the country to remember sixty years of independence, which was a journey of sacrifice of our forefathers and to be grateful for we have and give thanks to God."

According to the Lava Hotel Chairman, they are excited with what is planned for Saturday and he expressed his appreciation to the sponsors as well as the Samoa Government through the Samoa Tourism Authority (S.T.A.) for their support.

He added that when like-minded people decide to work together to do good things, they can achieve so much.

Four other local bands will also perform that night and they are really excited as they plan to showcase a few of their own songs during the concert.
