New lawyers take oaths of admission
Two new lawyers have taken their oaths of admission to the bar in the Supreme Court of Samoa with the Chief Justice presiding.
Barristers Aunoa Uele and Lefau Francis Ainuu were admitted to the bar and took their oaths recently before the Chief Justice, His Honour Satiu Sativa Perese.
Ms. Uele graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Laws and is the daughter of Rev. Iese Uele and Siaea Uele of Vaiala.
She has joined the Office of the Attorney General and is working in the Criminal Prosecutions Division with her addition a much needed boost to the lawyer numbers within the Office.
Lefau is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific (U.S.P.) Bachelor of Laws programme and is the son of the late Leota Dr. Joe Ainuu and Judy Meredith of Alamagoto.
He is an Assistant Electoral Commissioner with the Office of the Electoral Commission (O.E.C.) but is currently the Acting Electoral Commissioner.
The former electoral commissioner, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio, was among those who congratulated him on his admission to the bar.
"Proud of your journey brother Lefau Francis Ainuu.. welcome to the fraternity," Faimalo posted on his Facebook page.
Family members and friends of the two lawyers were on hand to witness and see them taking their oaths of admission to the bar.
