Samoa Breweries launches low carb beer
Samoa Breweries Ltd has announced the addition of a low carb full flavour lager beer to add to their products to cater for what the firm says is a new emerging demographic of drinking profiles.
The new product with an alcoholic strength of 4.1 per cent has been months in the making with the company saying its staff had been working tirelessly to perfect their brewing process to create the beer.
The latest addition to the Vailima beer family, which has been named Vailima Gold was launched during the company’s OktoberFest event held at The Edge Marina and Taumesina Hideaway recently.
However, the official launch party of the new product will be held on Saturday at the Taumeasina Island Resort, according to a statement released by the company.
“[The] Vailima Gold Our market research identified that there was a gap in the market and provided Vailima with the opportunity to create a low carb beer to suit a new emerging demographic of drinking profiles.”
Samoa Breweries Ltd General Manager Brent Adams said he was ecstatic to launch the new product.
“We are extremely proud to launch Vailima Gold in Samoa and to do it during our Oktoberfest event gives all drinkers the opportunity to taste and enjoy this new beer,” he said in a statement.
“We believe that its low carb characteristics will appeal to a wide range of drinkers.”
Mr Adams said the new product is not only for the health conscious beer consumers but also for those who want to drink responsibly.
“It caters to all and we’re really excited to be the first real low carb beer in Samoa!”
According to Mr Adams, Vailima Gold will initially be available only in draft.
“[However] the 355ml glass bottle offering will become available for sale and consumption in November,” he said.
Vailima Gold in draught is available at The Edge Marina bar, Taumesina Hideaway, Taumeasina Island Resort, Birdie’s Bar, Lava Hotel, Hotel Millenia, on The Rocks Bar, Tee-20 Bar and the RSA Nightclub.
