One of the major suppliers of school uniforms across the country has confirmed they will likely be receiving the 2021 stock by March this year.

The (Eveni) I.H. Carruthers Limited on Beach Road, who is a major supplier of school uniform material, has attributed the delay in shipment to the vessel bringing the supply being refused entry to the port.

"Unfortunately, our 2021 school uniform order was on the MV Coral Islander  II V0138S, which was not able to enter Apia wharf by the National Emergency Operations Centre (N.E.O.C.) for Covid 19 health safety reasons,” says a statement issued by the company.

“We support these precautionary steps to keep our country safe. Our full uniform stocks are now expected to arrive in early March 2021 - to be confirmed at a later date.”

The company says their team has worked hard to ensure that school uniforms stocks were booked and delivered on time using the same procurement team for the last 12 years.

But in light of the latest development, Eveni is putting in place temporary steps to assist all customers until the arrival of the uniform orders.

The tailoring company is asking people to contact them on 21 414 or email [email protected] to check the availability of the school uniforms in store.

Eveni is also appealing to customers to consider purchasing one school uniform set per student of the available stock in store.

Parents are also invited to reserve their child’s uniform in store and they will be offered a 20 per cent discount to be supplied immediately upon arrival of the shipment.

The company is making efforts to inform all government, mission and private schools on the current situation.

“We thank you for your understanding and we will keep you updated if there are any further developments,” added the Eveni management.
