Avid readers of the “Samoa Observer’s Village Voice” know very well that people, especially the youth, are in desperate need of formal employment.  

On Wednesday night at the Chamber of Commerce meeting, the Chief Executive Officer of Chamber, Lemauga Hobart Va’ai, officially announced the second intake for the “Internship Programme.”

The programme aims to help unemployed youth, especially those who are identified as “at risk” to expose them to work place environments and build work place capacity skills.  

The best aspect about this programme is that the audience targeted is those with little to no qualifications, and, welcomes both young men and women and those from the disabled community to apply.  

Chamber is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development through the Youth Employment Program to implement the initiative.  

Interns will be trained  for their place of employment through training from the Youth Employment Program and work as intern for 10 weeks.
