Vodafone makes $2,000 cash donation
Vodafone Samoa has made a $2,000 cash donation to Apia Hash House Harriers which will be given to the Goshen Trust.
The telecommunication company’s Chief Executive Officer, Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma, joined the Apia Hash House Harriers Samoa Perimeter Relay 2020 to help raise money for the Goshen Trust Mental Health Services.
In line with the company’s “always more” pledge for community support, Vodafone presented a $2,000 cash donation to Apia Hash House Harriers, according to a press release issued by the company.
“The experience for me was remarkable. Having joined in on the Nightwalkers group, we had one aim and that was to reach the finished line. With the support of my Family in India, my Vodafone family, and everyone from Apia Hash House Harriers, the eight-hour night walk from Le Vasa Resort to Sinalei Resort was fun and memorable,” said Nofoasaefa.
He added that Vodafone is proud to make a valuable contribution to a foundation that helps provide professional support towards the mentally impaired.
“It’s an issue we find too prideful to talk about. It’s a conversation we must hold regularly within our homes. This is all for a good community cause and we’re always more on support towards our community,” he added.
Nynette Sass of Apia Hash House Harriers said: “On behalf of the Apia Hash House Harriers, we are really grateful towards Vodafone, not only for the generous donation of $2,000 tala but it was also great to have the Vodafone C.E.O Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma participate by walking the whole 42 kilometer walk to help raise Mental Health awareness.”

Vodafone has since its launching invested over $370,000 tala worth of monetary and in-kind assistance and support within the local community with the telecommunications firm saying that it’s only just the beginning of many more to come.

The Goshen Trust exists to help mental health consumers, and their families and friends, gain access to love, care and support needed to help them be emotionally, mentally and physically.
