Push Play and Marks Samoa are working to organise a video games tournament next month.

Owner of Push Play, Francis Silivia Ah Wong, told the Samoa Observer they want to give back to the community as the tournament will offer participants cash prizes and Marks Samoa merchandise.

"We are very happy that Marks Samoa has partnered with us for this tournament and we are so happy that we will be able to work hand in hand with them," Mr. Ah wong said.

The tournament is scheduled to start on 10 July 2020 featuring a range of video games from Tekken 7 to Call of Duty, two of the most games among gamers.

"Since everything is starting to slowly come back, everyone was feeling sad and everything was going a bit sideways for everyone so I was thinking to maybe give back to the community," he said.

He stated that the tournament is more of having a good time as we are currently fighting COVID-19.

"Here in Samoa we are still Corona free and it is a way to motivate our relatives overseas as well to not lose hope, we will find a cure to the virus. Always remember that you can still feel happy even during these times," he said.

"For Push Play, things have been slow due to the lockdown. Push Play was lockdown for two months," he said.

His business is part of the many businesses that are currently affected by the lockdown as he had no choice but to close his business during the first two months of the lockdown. He believes that the tournament will help boost the markets for Push Play and Marks Samoa.

"The goal is to be a full house and successful at the same time. What Marks Samoa and Push Play is working on right now is to utilise social media and live-streams so that it can reach out to markets, not only markets but also to family and friends to see what we can do here in Samoa and see what we are utilising especially the internet," he said.

He explained that thsi is the second year that Push Play has been hosting tournaments he plans to host them twice a year.

"This lockdown has gotten everyone feeling emotional with what's going on and concerned with families and friends overseas. Also with the borders being closed and businesses being affected. We want to let them know that we are all in this together. We all got each other's back," he added
