Channel College's class of 2001 donated $5,000 to the school on Friday, coinciding with the Feast Day celebration held at the school hall.

Principal Father Brian Sigere was thankful for the assistance from the former scholars.

Class president, Saolotoga Joey Muliaga, said this is not the last time they will donate to the school.

“This is where we were educated so we want to give back to the school that has helped us get to where we are now and receive our dreams and our future,” Saolotoga said.

Head boy for the class of 1997, Seiuli John and his father Sila Ioane, who is one of the founding students of Chanel College, also donated three computers and 50 desks that cost more than $20,000.

Seiuli said their aim is to give back to Chanel College and help develop the school.

Seiuli is a Senior Inspector at the Ministry of Works, Transport Infrastructure (M.W.T.I) and for him, Channel College played a key role in his success so far.

Father Sigere said they appreciate the donation, which will contribute to the development of the students academically and spiritually.

Chanel College has about 250 students and 16 staff members. Father Sigere said the staff and parents were satisfied with academic results of the school last year.

The celebration was held at Chanel College Hall and was filled with ex-students of the school who joined to witness one of the important events in the school.
