S.S.A.B. staff back to school
The staff of Samoa Stationery and Books (SSAB) – including the President and Chief Executive Officer – surprised their customers yesterday.
They all dressed up in the uniform of the school they attended to mark the end of SSAB’s Back To School Promotion.
Looking young in her Samoa College uniform, President Tofilau Fiti Lafaele Leung Wai, said the idea is to continue to promote the importance of education.
“This is the season for Back to School, so we thought we are going to embrace the back to school promotion and also education by wearing our uniforms, representing the schools that we attended,” she said.
“And so today, it is really about acknowledging and promoting education because over the years, S.S.A.B has been carrying the literacy banner.”
The idea was certainly creative and eye catching.
Tofilau said it was another reminder that the company takes education very seriously and they are always willing to help Samoan students improve their learning.
She added that they already have some ideas about the next time they will wear school uniforms.
“For the upcoming year, we are looking at lifting this to the next level.
“We will provide boxes of donations with names of our schools on it. We will have them in the front counter and everyone is free to donate in each of the boxes they prefer. We will also do the same and will continue to wear our uniforms.”
Tofilau said the money would be donated to each of the schools represented.
“Whatever we fundraise we can either buy something for the school or give that money to the school if it’s a lot of money. With this we can be able to give back to our schools,” she said.
