The Pacific Way Money Transfer has taken the delivery of their services another notch. They have partnered up with the Ria Money Transfer, the third largest money transfer service in the world.

The partnership started last week. Country Director of Ria in Australia and New Zealand, Eduardo Bieytes and Agent & Revenue Manager for Ria in Australia and New Zealand met with Country Manager of Pacific Way Money Transfer in Australia, Nua Tavita Sio and the Country Director of Pacific Way Money Transfer in Samoa, Tuala Sui Meredith, to iron out the details.

Speaking to the Sunday Samoan, Mr. Bieytes said they are thrilled.

“We are extremely excited that we have started working together with Pacific Way Money Transfer here in Samoa,” said Mr. Bieytes. 

“This is something we’ve always wanted to do since Ria opened up our office in Australia, ten years ago.

“That’s because we’ve had a lot of customers coming in and asking if Ria were able to send and receive money from Samoa or the Pacific Islands.  “And we had to say no, because we did not have a correspondent here in Samoa or the Pacific. And so we’ve been trying to set up a correspondent here in Samoa.”

Mr. Bieytes said he met with Nua in Australia and talked to him about having the Pacific Way Money Transfer as their agent in Samoa. 

However, the conditions were not good at that time.

Mr. Bieytes also visited Samoa six years ago, to see if Ria was able to partner up with Pacific Way Money Transfer. “But finally, we now have partnered with Pacific Way Money Transfer and finally have the opportunity to have our worldwide network to send money from all the other different countries to Samoa.”

Pacific Way Money Transfer is the second money agency from the Pacific to have partnered up with RIA, with Tonga being the first. 

“We (Ria) started in New Zealand in 2011. And we have partnered up with Tonga about a year and a half ago, and we are now looking at setting up a correspondent in Fiji. We are also interested in setting up a correspondent in the Cook Islands and Solomon Islands.” 

Mr. Bieytes said they are happy with the decision to make the Pacific Way Money Transfer as their correspondent agency in Samoa. 

“The location is great and we think that the customer services here at Pacific Way Transfer are extremely great. And we are happy with that.”

Nua, the Country Director for Pacific Way Money Transfer in Australia, said they are happy with this partnership. 

“We are looking forward to it,” he said. 

Increasing their reach and services to other parts of the world was the main purpose why Pacific Way Money Transfer had agreed to this partnership, said Nua Tavita. 

“Our agents in Australia are based in the cities and our service does not reach the other cities in Australia where Ria has a wider range reach. So that’s why were interested in working with Ria so that we can extend our network and service through Ria.”

Nua said that this partnership was not something they wanted to do in the first place. 

“I mean we try to look after our own business but it’s a changing world and with technology taking over the landscape and it’s opening up a lot of opportunities and are making things easier for us.

So partnering up with Ria was the best way so that we can satisfy our customers, extend our network and improve on our services to other areas we cannot reach.

“Through Ria, our family and friends here in Samoa can now send money anywhere in Australia and New Zealand and other different countries in the world at a very reasonable rate. So I highly recommend to our customers and our people to try out our service and our new partnership.”
