Reverend Elder Palemia Tauiliili was elected as the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (CCCS) chair as the biggest church denomination’s annual conference concluded last Friday.

The annual conference proper began last Monday, with Tuesday a day to honour retiring ministers.

On Friday, the church held its selection of people in key positions.

As per the usual process, the co-chairperson automatically becomes the chairman and new executive members, such as the co-chair, secretary and treasurer, are elected by conference members of the church.

General Secretary Reverend Taipisia Leilua was once again elected to this post. He confirmed the new executive members for this year after all attending members of the Fono Tele elected them.

The chairman is last year's co-chair, Reverend Elder Palemia Tauiliili.

For the second time, Reverend Elder Enefatu Lesa has been elected as the new co-chairman for this year, which means he will automatically become the chairman next year.

Reverend Leilua was again elected as the General Secretary for the fourth consecutive time.

The new treasurer is a teacher at Malua Theological College, Reverend Visesio Saga.

The annual Malua Conference concluded on Friday, with hundreds of members from different parishes from around the globe attending.

Chairman Rev Elder Tauiliili is currently serving as the church minister for Samalaeulu, Savaii. Co-chairman Rev Elder Lesa is currently the Church Minister for Tanoaleia, Vaivase-Uta.
