More than 100 officials have headed out to designated areas where they will be working to conduct pre-polling for the Safata No.1 and Vaisigano No.2 by-elections on Wednesday.

Electoral Commissioner, Tuiafelolo Toleafoa John Stanley, said some public servants were called in to assist because there are not enough staff members of the Electoral Commissioner's Office to conduct pre-polling and polling for both Safata No.1 and Vaisigano No.2.

Pre-polling booth for Safata No.1 constituency will be at the CCCS Sa'anapu-uta Hall, while Vaisigano No.2 constituency's pre-polling booth will be located at Sataua Methodist Hall.

For polling day on Friday, Safata No.1 voters will be using up to nine polling booths as allocated by the Office of the Electoral Commissioner.

The booths include Salamumu-Uta Methodist Hall, Salamumu-tai Methodist Hall, Saanapu-uta CCCS Hall, Saanapu-tai CCCS Hall, Sataoa-tai CCCS Hall, Sataoa-uta Methodist Hall, Lotofaga CCCS Hall, and the Lotofaga Methodist Hall.

Safata No.1 special booth is located at the Salamasina Hall in Sogi.

For Vaisigano No.2 constituency's polling booths, four have been allocated, which include Fagasa AOG Hall, Sataua Catholic Hall, Sataua Methodist Hall and Papa Sataua CCCS Hall.

The special booth for Vaisigano No.2 will also be available at the To'oa Salamasina Hall in Sogi and the Salelologa Market.

Mobile booths will also be available for the Moto'otua National Hospital and the National Kidney Foundation, and also at Mapuifagalele for Upolu.

For Savaii, mobile booths will be available at the Tuasivi hospital, Sataua district hospital, Foailalo district hospital, Vaipouli district hospital and Sataua district hospital.

Tuiafelolo said all the officials for both pre-polling and polling day went through training in the past weeks to ensure there will be no more errors.
