Poland's ambassador Patryk Michal Blaszczak presented his letters of credence to Samoa’s Head of State, Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II, on Tuesday morning.

Blaszczak is based in Wellington, New Zealand.

The Head of State welcomed Ambassador Patryk Michal Błaszczak and acknowledged the positive development of relations between Samoa and Poland. He congratulated Poland on the establishment of an Honorary Consul in Samoa and wished Anthony Pereira well as the first Honorary Consul of Poland to Samoa. He said the new representation is expected to strengthen cooperation and people-to-people ties, and that Ambassador Błaszczak’s work will continue to enhance friendship between the two countries.

The ambassador reaffirmed Poland’s commitment to strengthening ties with Samoa, building on the work of his predecessors.

Patryk Michał Błaszczak has been Poland’s ambassador to New Zealand since 2025. He is also accredited to Samoa and other Pacific countries.

Samoa and Poland have had friendly relations since they established diplomatic ties on March 8, 2012. The two countries work together through the United Nations, the OACPS–EU framework, and other international groups on issues they both care about, including peace and security, democracy and human rights, and climate change.
