The  Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG ) would be nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize as a joint project between Vodafone and SVSG for global recognition.

The announcement was made by Vodafone Samoa's chief executive officer Rana Bose, as the telecommunication services provider announced its ongoing support for the NGO that was turning 20 years old this year.

Bose said Vodafone will initiate the process for the nomination of the Nobel Prize under the Democracy and Human Rights section.

"The deadline is 31 January 2026," he said.

“SVSG and Vodafone share the same value, that we want to do good for the country. Vodafone has been supporting SVSG for several years and will continue to as we are also providing a special package for the 20th Celebration.”

Vodafone Samoa sponsorship package includes $42,743 and devices such as tablets and phones for the prizes of the anniversary events.

"Reflecting on 20 years of service, SVSG continues its mission of supporting women, children, and survivors of abuse across Samoa. This event also highlighted the strong partnership with Vodafone Samoa, which has stood by SVSG for over eight years, especially through vital helpline services," said SVSG Board chair Afioga Tanya Toailoa.

"With the theme 20th Anniversary Celebration, years of partnerships saving lives and advancing the future, this milestone celebration invites the public to join in recognising the significant contribution the SVSG partners have had in supporting the work of SVSG within the community."

SVSG provides shelter for women and children who have been victims of physical and sexual abuse, especially in their homes. The NGO operates the only child shelter in Samoa, the Campus of Hope which currently houses 80 children.

SVSG also runs a 24-hour helpline dedicated to suicide prevention with the help of Lifeline International. Currently, SVSG is the only one offering such services.
