Blood moon eclipse seen on Friday
A spectacular “blood moon” total lunar eclipse was observed on Friday night with many Samoans getting the chance to observe the phenomena.
The full “Worm Moon” turned a beautiful reddish colour as it drifted through Earth’s massive umbral shadow in space.
The moon passed into the Earth's shadow. The entire moon moved into the darkest part of the shadow, known as the Umbra — blocking sunlight from reaching it. The moon turned red for a few hours until it finished passing through the Umbra.
