As the festive season unfolds, the Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) is once again ensuring the safety of the people of Samoa with a dedicated standby team.

Fire Commissioner Tanuvasa Petone Mauga emphasised the commitment of his team to safeguarding lives during this busy time of year.

“This is our usual work every year,” said Tanuvasa.

“There will always be a standby team during the festive season. It’s ongoing work to make sure the safety of our people is prioritized.”

Tanuvasa shared important safety reminders for families enjoying the holidays.

FESA continues to post public safety notices on its Facebook page, urging everyone to stay vigilant, especially during family vacations and gatherings.

“Small things can lead to big troubles,” he said.

“Watch out for dangers while at the beach and take precautions when having barbecues. Always prioritize safety to prevent fires or accidents. Keep an eye on your children while swimming and stay updated with the weather forecasts.”

His message was clear; by taking simple safety measures, families can avoid unnecessary risks and enjoy a trouble-free holiday season.

In closing, Tanuvasa extended warm holiday wishes to his team and the nation.

“I’d love to take this opportunity to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to my workers at FESA, to all the ministries that have supported us, and to every government worker,” he said.

“Lastly, to the people of Samoa, may you have a wonderful holiday season with your families. Stay safe and stay out of trouble.”

FESA’s readiness and dedication remind everyone to take care, celebrate responsibly, and value the safety of ourselves and our loved ones during this joyous season.
