HRPP celebrates 45th anniversary
The Human Rights Protection Party celebrates its 45th year anniversary on Friday evening at the Multipurpose Gym, Tuanaimato. Hundreds gathered to celebrate including former and current members of the H.R.P.P.
H.R.P.P leader Tuilaepa Sailelei Malielegaoi remarked that their party stood to protect everyone's rights whether they supported their party or not.
He said it goes together with the foundation of Samoa where there is no favouritism.
"The H.R.P.P was established in 1979 but came into office in 1982. We were at the helm from 1982 up to 2021. We shall remember our leaders, Vaai Kolone and Tofilau Eti Alesana for their hard work and efforts. There is no one in the H.R.P.P. with the talent of lying. The majority of our candidates are vying for one chair in their constituency," he said.
"The people who are now standing to lead are the people who were nurtured in H.R.P.P. The work of this party has boosted the economy of Samoa.
"There is no hiding the struggle our people are facing, not only that but the shame of trying to find our airplane to fly to New Zealand, Australia, and the U.S.The only reason they stopped our aeroplane is because of their hearts. This development was not made just to say HRPP did this but we did it for the goodness of our people."
He acknowledged everyone present at their anniversary. He said he was grateful for the continuous support throughout the year.
"We want to acknowledge and thank all our party's partners from here and overseas. We should all work together and not turn against each other. Taking this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year."
