Seven years ago, VJ Lorenzo Sanele and Sarah Natasha Tamapua locked eyes. They knew then it was meant to be forever.

A week ago, the two tied the knot and took their wedding vows.

VJ is the son of the late Faumuina and Petesa Sanele while Sarah is the daughter of Member of Parliament Lenata’i Victor and Arlene Tamapua.

The couple, both 26 years old, met at the National University of Samoa during their UPY year in 2017 and it was love at first sight.

“VJ made the first move, in fact, he had to ask me twice to be his girlfriend. We continued our relationship at Otago University in New Zealand in 2018 we both graduated with our Bachelor degrees in Commerce,” Sarah said.

VJ proposed on Valentine’s Day in February 2022 at Taumeasina Island Resort with loved ones present. The proposal was a surprise as Sarah was told it was going to be a dinner to celebrate her success so she had to look flawless.

“Both families were happy when VJ told them about his proposal plans, VJ asked my parents for their blessings and he got it,” said Sarah.

The wedding ceremony was conducted by Reverend Semikueva of EFKS Moataa at the Sheraton Hotel Apia, followed by a reception in the Harbourview Ball Room.

“Both families were not aware of the wedding plans and were only told on the week of the wedding to attend. Their responses were mostly “Finally, we have been waiting,” said Sarah.

“VJ is kind, compassionate, hard-working and always the humble one when we have our small arguments, said Sarah.

“She is one of a kind, a beauty with brains and her unwavering support for whatever he chooses to do is immeasurable,” VJ said.

The couple plan to continue working for their family business while developing their little family.

Both are excited to see what God has in store for their future and strongly believe that whatever He has to unfold, will be of prosperity.
