A local company will become the first business to retail Starlink services and kits to the public in Samoa.

Computer Services Ltd (CSL), a leading ICT and ISP service provider in Samoa announced the move and has already started taking orders.

CSL chief executive officer Dave Main said the company was currently working closely with the Office of the Regulator to introduce Starlink services to Samoa.

Starlink, developed by SpaceX, is a revolutionary satellite internet service that offers high-speed, low-latency broadband internet in remote and underserved areas around the world.

Main said this service will significantly improve internet access and connectivity for individuals, businesses, and communities across Samoa.

Starlink’s satellite internet service offers unprecedented speeds and low latency, making it ideal for various applications, from remote work and online education to telemedicine and entertainment. By retailing Starlink, CSL is poised to revolutionise the internet landscape in Samoa, ensuring that every household and business can benefit from world-class connectivity.

“We are excited to bring Starlink’s innovative technology to Samoa,” said Main.

“This partnership underscores our dedication to providing top-tier internet solutions and supporting the digital growth of our community.”

With Starlink’s cutting-edge satellite technology, CSL aims to provide high-speed, reliable internet access to even the most remote areas of Samoa. This initiative aligns with our commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering technological advancement in Education, Healthcare and in all areas where technology is used, across the country.

“We are pleased to announce that users can now pre-order Starlink kits through CSL. This pre-order opportunity allows customers to be among the first to experience the benefits of Starlink’s advanced satellite internet technology,” said Main.

CSL has been at the forefront of the ICT industry in Samoa for 47 years and is 100 per cent locally owned.
