A car accident on Saturday night in Malie resulted in the hospitalisation of the driver and several passengers.

The incident, which occurred late in the evening, has sparked a wave of controversy following the emergence of a video posted on Facebook by a bystander.

The video circulated online rapidly showed the aftermath of the crash with the filmer pleading with the police through the footage to dispatch assistance.

This has led to public criticism, as many questioned why the individual chose to record the scene rather than directly aiding the victims or calling emergency services.

The video has been deleted and removed from the bystander's account following criticism from the public.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, and efforts to obtain comments from the police remain ongoing.

However, sources at the hospital, speaking anonymously, confirmed that one of the passengers, a woman, was admitted on Saturday night with severe injuries, including the loss of fingers on one arm. Fortunately, other passengers sustained only minor injuries and are reportedly in stable condition.

Initial suspicions suggest that the driver of the vehicle may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The investigation into the exact cause of the crash and the circumstances surrounding it continues as the community grapples with the implications of the video and the broader issues of responsibility and emergency response.
