More than 1000 youths from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Upolu area are anticipated to participate in the For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conference, which begins on Monday.

The FSY program is a worldwide initiative that targets youth between the ages of 14-17 alongside Young Single Adults (YSA) from ages 19-30. A total of 1300 will be at the conference.

Over a week, devotions, seminars, interactive classes, service projects, and other events are planned to assist youth grow their faith and have fun while learning how to apply the gospel to all facets of their life.

According to Brother and Sister Joseph, who are one of the directing couples, the primary focus of this year's conference is "Jesus Christ," which coincides with the FSY theme "I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.”

The Youth will interact with other young people who contend corresponding convictions, learn how to receive revelation and guidance from the scriptures, and receive mentoring from young, single adults who will teach and support them in living the gospel. Additionally, they will participate in activities that will boost their confidence and self-esteem.

"The primary goal is to uphold the youth's conversion, testimony, sacred covenants, and solid relationship with the Lord by focusing on Jesus Christ," he stated.

Brother Joseph assured that there is adequate security at the campsite and it is strictly forbidden for individuals to engage in drugs and other controlled substances.

Topics including, family history, missionary preparation, temple attendance, scripture study, and more will all be part of the program.

Elder Jeremy R. Jaggi, General Authority Seventy and second counselor in the Pacific Area presidency addressed youth.

He told the youth that they can know for themselves that the Lord knows them and loves them and that Jesus Christ is the strength of youth.

“Everybody has trials. No one is immuned,” Elder Jaggi said.

“But when we let the Saviour into our lives and let Him run to us, then He will give us the strength we need to fight the battles that we are facing.”
