Miss Falealili ready for the big stage
The first ever Miss Falealili 2024-2025, Ingridvanie Fetoai, 21 from Matautu Falealili is ready to represent her district on the national stage in September for the Miss Samoa pageant.
She is a young woman with dreams and aspirations. One of her main ambitions in contesting for the Miss Samoa is to inspire her fellow Falealili sisters that they can do anything if they put their minds to.
In an interview with the Samoa Observer, Ms. Fetoai said having to return from overseas and leave her diaspora dream on pause was all worth it after winning the first-ever Miss Falealili crown.
"First of all it's a pretty awesome feeling and truly humbled by it, to be honest. A massive shout out to my fellow contestants as well and I'm looking forward to it," she said.
"I am quite keen and trying to find something to push that confidence at the moment but I am pretty excited for the journey."
Asked about some aspects of Falealili that she is willing to showcase on the national stage in September, she said it's the confidence of their people as well as the teamwork in everything they do.
"Confidence is one thing that makes our people stand out and I am from Matautu Falealili. They're pretty small in population but they're a crazy bunch and they work together in everything and anything.
"The mission really is to inspire the younger generation to just give it a go and have a try. Life's too short so just have a go and give it a try ,you never know what can happen ."
Meanwhile, this is the first time Falealili has initiated to carry out a Miss Falealili pageant to select their best for the Miss Samoa pageant.
The pageant was held earlier this month attracting seven contestants. Ms. Fetoai was contestant number four and she won the Best Evening Wear Award and the Best Sarong Award.
Initiated by the Women's Committee of Falealili, the pageant was conducted in a similar structure to the Miss Samoa pageant.
There were five judges including the former Miss Samoa and Miss South Pacific, Ariana Taufao. The Minister of Communication, Information and Technology and Member of Parliament for Falealili No.1, Toelupe Poumulinuku Onesemo was present at the pageant and presented the awards.
