The Avele College Old Pupils Association (A.C.O.P.A.) paid tribute and acknowledged the remarkable accomplishments of its former students during the college's centennial celebration.

Amidst the festivities, names of distinguished alumni were called out, evoking thunderous applause and heartfelt cheers from fellow former students, who expressed gratitude for their peers' dedication and service across various fields.

The college proudly paid tribute to esteemed alumni, both living and deceased, recognising their outstanding achievements and contributions to society. Among those honoured was late Prime Minister, Va'ai Kolone, whose son accepted the award on his behalf, acknowledging his significant impact on Samoa's political landscape.

Similarly, the late Sir Seiuli Paul Wallwick, a prominent leader and former Avele College student, was posthumously recognised, with his wife, Su'a Julia Wallwork, emotionally accepting the accolade on his behalf.

The legacy of Tuiloma Pule Lameko Gae'e, a former Samoan politician and Cabinet Minister, was honoured as his son, Pule Dr. Viali Lameko, received the award in his father's memory.

Additionally, pioneer educators like the late Tautapilimai Levaopolo Tupae Esera and his wife, Lafaitele Aiga Esera, a former principal of the college, were acknowledged for their invaluable contributions to Avele College's academic excellence.

The association also celebrated the achievements of Avele College athletes who represented Samoa on the international stage, including notable individuals like Don Opeloge and Kolone Alefosia. Recognition was also extended to renowned Samoan songwriter and fa'aluma, Tupa'i Fa'asalafa, for his artistic talents as well as Reverend Iosefa Lale Peteru of the renowned Punialava'a band.

In addition to honouring leaders in various fields, the association acknowledged former students who assumed high positions within different denominations in Samoa, such as the principal of Malua Theological College, Reverend Professor Vaitusi Nofoaiga.

The association expressed appreciation for the ongoing support of alumni like the Minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure (M.W.T.I.) Olo Fiti Vaai, whose representation of Avele College in the political arena and commitment to the college's development initiatives were lauded.

The dedication of Olo, who proudly represents Avele College in the political sphere, was recognised for his unwavering support and contributions to the 100th Anniversary celebration's preparations.

As Avele College marks a century of educational excellence, the A.C.O.P.A. celebration serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of its alumni, whose achievements continue to inspire generations of students and contribute to the advancement of Samoa's society and culture.
