Police net meth in Fatausi bust
A 53-year-old man from Fatausi, Safotulafai in Savai'i is now in police custody following a drug bust at his residence where methamphetamine was confiscated.
The Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Services announced the successful operation on Saturday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off from concerned locals, law enforcement conducted a raid at the man's home, uncovering "white substances" in small plastic bags, suspected to be methamphetamine.
Alongside the drugs, officers also seized cash and paraphernalia believed to be used in the drug trade.
The individual has been charged with possession of narcotics and is being held in police custody.
Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo confirmed to this newspaper that the man currently in custody has no prior history of involvement in drug-related crimes.
